Stag Do Activities in Marrakech: Prices and Timing

Updated · David and Dounya

The stag do activities that work best in Marrakech fit into two slots a day: one daytime activity (quad biking in the Agafay desert, a dawn hot-air balloon flight, a round of golf, a cooking class or a hammam) and one evening (a private party at the riad or villa, a dinner in the desert, a night out). Priced with our calculator, a two-hour quad ride costs €65 to €90 per person, a balloon flight €170 to €200, a cooking class €45 to €70, and a private party for 12 at a riad, with dinner, venue hire and a DJ, €301 to €770 per person. Below: duration, price and the catch for each one. Tell us your dates and headcount and we will put together the right mix: request a free quote, answered within 48 business hours.

Our 3-day stag do itinerary and cost per person sets out a complete weekend, hour by hour. This guide helps you choose what goes into it.

Daytime activities

Quad biking or buggies in the Agafay desert

The most requested stag activity: two hours on stony desert tracks. Our calculator prices it at €65 to €90 per person for two hours, with transfers on top. Operators set their own rules on minimum age and riders per machine; for a large group, the ride is organised in waves of guided machines. See our page on quad and buggy outings for groups.

Two points are not negotiable. First, nobody rides after drinking: schedule the quads for the afternoon after a quiet morning, not the morning after the big night. Second, insurance. UK government travel advice notes that quad bike accidents involving British nationals frequently occur in resort areas, that adventure providers may not meet UK safety standards, and that some travel policies do not cover quad biking. Everyone checks their own policy before booking. In July and August, when the average high in Marrakech is 37.7°C, the ride moves to the very end of the day.

Hot-air balloon at sunrise

At €170 to €200 per person, the most expensive daytime activity, with pick-up well before dawn. The wind can cancel a flight on the morning itself, so we place it early in the stay, which leaves room to move it. UK travel advice is to book balloon flights only through licensed operators, which we check before confirming. Our guide to hot-air balloon flights for groups explains timing and cancellations.

Hammam and massage

The recovery slot, the day after the party. On the published spa menu of one medina hotel we read in November 2026, a 30-minute hammam with scrub costs 250 MAD, about €23, and a 60-minute package with a 30-minute massage 650 MAD, about €61, with a 10% service charge on top. The real constraint is the number of treatment rooms: a group of 15 goes through in turns. See our page on private hammam and spa for groups.

Cooking class

Cooking a tagine together, then eating it for lunch: €45 to €70 per person in our calculator. It suits those who do not ride. We book it as a private session so the group is not mixed with other travellers. Details in our guide to group cooking classes in Marrakech.

Medina treasure hunt

Teams, a route through the old town, clues and challenges along the way: €30 to €45 per person. Costumes and forfeits stay at the riad. Our medina treasure hunt page shows the format.

Golf

For groups with golfers, Marrakech has many courses close to the city. Visitor green fees published by the clubs, checked in October 2026, range from 600 MAD to 1,350 MAD for 18 holes, about €56 to €126, before caddie and buggy; two clubs make a caddie compulsory (at one of them, 200 to 300 MAD a round depending on the number of players). Our partner site Golf Addict Club compares Marrakech green fees course by course, and has a guide to a golf stag weekend in Marrakech.

Go-karting and other options

Go-karting exists on the outskirts of the city, but we found no official published group price: it is quoted on request, like a pool day club or a day trip into the Atlas.

Evening activities

A private party at the riad or villa

The evening that makes a stag do: no queue, no door policy, no other guests. For 12 people, our calculator gives €3,608 to €9,240 in total: dinner at €65 to €100 per person, venue hire at €2,000 to €6,000, a DJ at €500 to €1,200, plus 10% contingency. That is €301 to €770 each. For 20 people: €4,180 to €10,120, or €209 to €506 each, because venue hire and the DJ are shared. Drinks come on top; our wedding calculator puts an open bar at €18 to €38 per guest.

Two things to settle before signing. Alcohol: ask in writing whether the venue holds a licence to serve it, and how drinks will be supplied. And the music cut-off, which each venue sets: we have it written into the contract so the evening does not end in an argument at midnight.

Dinner in the Agafay desert

A private camp, a long table, a fire. Booked exclusively for the group, our calculator gives €535 to €946 per person for 12 and €352 to €616 for 20, including return shuttles. Below 20 people, a shared camp evening is often the better deal; we quote both. From December to February, nights are cold, with average lows of 6 to 8°C, so plan blankets and braziers.

Dinner show or a night out

A dinner show restaurant suits a group that wants a lively evening without a club. For a club night, each venue sets its own table booking terms and dress code; our guide to nightclubs in Marrakech explains how it works.

How to combine them over a weekend

One big activity a day: treasure hunt or pool on Friday afternoon, quads on Saturday afternoon then the private party, hammam on Sunday before the flights. For a group of 12 that books the quads, the cooking class, the treasure hunt and the balloon, our calculator gives €341 to €446 per person for the four activities, contingency included, transfers excluded: too much for one weekend, so choose two. The full weekend budget, with accommodation, transfers and covering the groom’s share, is worked out in our stag do itinerary and cost guide.

Local rules the group should know

  • Alcohol. Moroccan regulation bars licensed venues from selling or serving alcohol to Muslim Moroccans; it does not stop foreign visitors from drinking in licensed venues. UK travel advice states that drinking in the street, or anywhere other than a licensed restaurant or bar, is illegal and can lead to arrest. Drugs: zero tolerance, long prison sentences.
  • Public space. Costumes, forfeits and chanting belong at the riad, in the desert or at the club, not in the streets of the medina. In town, dress modestly.
  • Drones. Bringing one into Morocco is prohibited without prior authorisation, granted only for specific professional needs; flying one without permission risks fines and confiscation. Leave it at home.
  • Valuables. Petty crime is common in tourist areas, including the medina: passports stay in the safe.
  • Timing. Morocco stays on GMT all year: the same time as London in winter, one hour behind in summer. Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin around 8 February, give or take a day; avoid it for a stag do.

Frequently asked questions

What is the most popular stag do activity in Marrakech?

Quad biking in the Agafay desert is the most requested, at €65 to €90 per person for two hours; the private party at the riad or villa is often the most memorable.

How many activities can we fit into a weekend?

Two big ones plus a hammam over three days. Beyond that, transfers and late nights eat into everything.

Can we drink alcohol at a private party in a riad?

Moroccan rules do not stop foreign visitors from drinking in licensed premises, so ask the venue in writing whether it holds an alcohol licence and how drinks are supplied. Drinking in the street, or anywhere other than a licensed venue, is illegal.

Does travel insurance cover quad biking in Morocco?

Not always: UK travel advice warns that some policies exclude it. Each participant should check their own policy before the trip.

Is a hot-air balloon flight worth it for a stag group?

For a group that will get up before dawn, yes, at €170 to €200 per person. Book it early in the stay, as the wind can cancel it.
