Birthday at a Marrakech Nightclub: Clubs, VIP Tables, Safety

The best way to celebrate a birthday in a Marrakech nightclub is in two stages: a private dinner from about 8pm to 11pm, then a table booked in advance at a club, until 3am or 4am depending on the venue. Three venues are confirmed on their own or their hotel’s official website as of 14 October 2026: Theatro, within the Es Saadi hotel grounds; So Lounge at the Sofitel Marrakech Palais Impérial; and the patio-club at Comptoir Darna, in Hivernage. None of them publishes table prices: ask the club for your date and group size. Dinner, on the other hand, can be costed: €60 to €120 per head in a characterful venue. Here is how to book, what to ask, and how to get everyone home safely.

Which clubs for a birthday in Marrakech?

Nightlife addresses change fast: a club opens, closes or rebrands within a season. We only list venues whose existence appears, as of 14 October 2026, on the official page of the venue or the hotel that houses it. Always check before booking.

Venue Where What the official source says
Theatro Within the Es Saadi Marrakech Resort Presented by the hotel as a fixture of Marrakech nightlife since 2003, with shows every night. The Casino de Marrakech is in the same grounds.
So Lounge Sofitel Marrakech Palais Impérial & Spa Open every night, 7.30pm to 4am: dinner, shows (live bands, Gnaoua, dance) from 9.30pm to 12.30am, then club from midnight to 4am.
Comptoir Darna Avenue Echouhada, Hivernage Restaurant every evening 7pm to 1am; patio and club, on two levels, every evening 7pm to 3am.

The three work differently. So Lounge runs dinner, shows and club in one place, and Comptoir Darna a restaurant then a patio-club: handy for a group that does not want to change venue. Theatro’s page presents it as a club with shows and says nothing about dinner: plan to eat elsewhere, or ask the hotel. Other names appear on nightlife listings; we leave them out because we could not confirm on an official site that they are open today. For the dinner beforehand, see our guide to a private dining room or rooftop for a birthday in Marrakech.

How does table booking work?

For a birthday, you do not queue at the door: you book a table. The principle is similar in most clubs, but each sets its own terms. Before confirming, ask these questions in writing.

  1. How many people is the table for, and what happens if more turn up?
  2. Is there a minimum spend or a bottle package, and how much is it on your date? A Saturday is not priced like a Tuesday.
  3. Is a deposit required, and is it refundable if you cancel?
  4. Until when is the table held? A table booked for midnight may be released if the group arrives at 1am.
  5. Can you bring a cake, or does the club supply one, with candles or sparklers? Rules vary between venues.
  6. What is the dress code? Comptoir Darna, for example, states a smart casual dress code on its website and turns away sportswear, shorts, flip-flops and sandals for men: being turned away for trainers ruins a night for twenty people.
  7. What is the minimum age, and is ID required? Warn guests who are only carrying a photocopy of their passport.

Saturday nights and holiday periods are the most in demand: book the table as soon as the dinner date is fixed.

The format that works: private dinner, then club

A birthday spent entirely in a club has two drawbacks: you cannot hear each other, and the group soon scatters. The better running order looks like this.

  • 8pm: drinks and a private dinner in an exclusive-use riad, on a terrace or in a restaurant reserved for the group. This is when the speeches, cake and photos happen.
  • 11.30pm: group shuttle to the club.
  • Midnight – 3am or 4am: your table at the club.
  • Home: shuttle at a fixed time, or official taxis.

This also solves the noise question: in the medina, music in a riad stops early, usually between midnight and 1am. Moving on to a club at that point keeps the party going somewhere built for it. Our guide to a private party in Marrakech compares dinner venues.

What does dinner plus club cost for 12 people?

The dinner is costed with the ranges on our birthday party in Marrakech page; the club part is quoted by the club.

  • Celebration dinner: €60 to €120 per head, so €720 to €1,440 for 12.
  • Bespoke cake: €25 to €60.
  • Table flowers: €50 to €200.
  • Dinner total: 720 + 25 + 50 = €795 to 1,440 + 60 + 200 = €1,700, or about €65 to €140 per head (795 ÷ 12 ≈ €66; 1,700 ÷ 12 ≈ €142).
  • Club table: according to the club’s minimum spend or package for your date.
  • Getting home: shuttles on request, or official taxis for anyone heading back on their own.

If you would rather have a good restaurant in town than a dinner in a characterful venue, allow €20 to €40 per head for the meal.

Staying safe, without the drama

A club night in Marrakech goes well when you apply the rules you would in any big city, plus a few specific ones.

  • Valuables. UK government travel advice reports that petty crime, including bag-snatching and pickpocketing, is common in tourist areas, and the French Foreign Ministry asks for extra vigilance in big cities such as Marrakech. Carry the minimum and leave your passport in the hotel safe.
  • Taxis. The French ministry recommends official taxis. UK advice adds that taxis booked through ride-sharing apps may be unregulated and unlicensed. For a group, a shuttle booked for a fixed time saves negotiating at 3am.
  • Alcohol. Drink in licensed venues. UK advice states that drinking in the street is illegal and can lead to arrest, and reports deaths and serious illness from alcoholic drinks containing methanol: stick to established venues and do not accept a drink whose origin you do not know.
  • Drugs. UK advice states that Morocco has a zero-tolerance approach, with long prison sentences and heavy fines: no exceptions for visitors.
  • The group. Appoint one person who drinks little or nothing, holds the guest list and has the driver’s number. Nobody walks home alone.

What Saphyyr Events does

We organise the part the club does not: the private dinner, the venue, caterer, cake, flowers, shuttles and, if you wish, security. The club table is booked with the club, on its terms. Our team works in English or French, between Paris and Marrakech, and stays on site on the night until the last guest leaves.

Frequently asked questions

What time do Marrakech clubs open and close?

According to their official websites as of 14 October 2026, the club at So Lounge runs from midnight to 4am and the patio-club at Comptoir Darna until 3am. Hours can change with the season and special nights: check for your date.

How much is a VIP table?

None of the clubs listed publishes prices on its official page. The amount depends on the day, the night and the number of people: ask the club in writing, with the cancellation terms.

Can we celebrate in a club during Ramadan?

Ramadan changes opening hours and alcohol service. In 2027 it is expected to begin around 8 February, give or take a day, for about a month. Pick another date if the club night matters.

What about a stag do?

Same approach, over a weekend: our all-inclusive stag do in Marrakech fits the club night into a three-day programme, with the cost per person.

We organise the dinner, the transport and the coordination of the night on the ground: see our birthday party planning in Marrakech, or ask for a free quote with your date and guest count.
