Group Flights to Marrakech: Direct Routes, Times, Group Fares

The simplest way to bring a group to Marrakech is a direct flight to Marrakech-Menara airport. According to the official airport websites, which we checked on 14/10/2026 (check again before booking), there are direct routes from Lyon, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Marseille, Nice, Nantes, Lille, Geneva, Brussels and Charleroi, and Paris is served from Orly and Charles de Gaulle (check that your flight is non-stop). Allow about 3 h 15 to 3 h 30 from Paris, and from 2 h 30 to just over 3 h from the other cities, based on the times they publish. From ten travellers, several airlines offer a group booking with its own rules: a threshold of 10 passengers at easyJet, 15 at Ryanair and 10 or 26 at Transavia depending on the channel, full payment or a deposit at the time of booking, and names due a few days before departure. Flights are booked by you or your travel agent; this guide helps you choose the right method and the right timetable.

Which cities have direct flights to Marrakech?

The table below shows what each departure airport lists on its official website (for Paris, the airlines’ own sites). Schedules change every season and some routes only operate on certain days of the week, so always check the days of operation before you fix your dates.

Departure airport Airlines listed Flight time (airport website) Straight-line distance
Paris (Orly, Charles de Gaulle) Royal Air Maroc (Orly, CDG), Transavia (Orly); check the flight is non-stop about 3 h 15 to 3 h 30 2,094 to 2,128 km
Lyon Royal Air Maroc, easyJet, Volotea, Transavia, TUI fly 3 h 10 1,934 km
Bordeaux easyJet, Royal Air Maroc, Volotea 2 h 30 1,602 km
Toulouse Ryanair, Transavia, easyJet, Royal Air Maroc not stated 1,570 km
Marseille direct flight listed 2 h 45 1,756 km
Nice easyJet, 11 flights a week all year 3 h 05 1,891 km
Nantes Royal Air Maroc (direct route opened on 11/10/2025, according to the airport) not stated 1,813 km
Lille direct flight listed not stated 2,299 km
Geneva easyJet not stated 2,029 km
Brussels Ryanair not stated 2,379 km
Charleroi Ryanair not stated 2,336 km

Other regional airports have routes, often seasonal, that we could not confirm on their websites: ask your local airport. From Paris, Royal Air Maroc sells Marrakech from both Orly and Charles de Gaulle; check when booking that the flight offered is non-stop.

A group whose members all leave from the same airport is the easiest case. If your teams are spread across several cities, use the table to spot the airports to avoid: a city with no direct flight adds a connection, often several hours, plus a risk of lost luggage or delay that knocks on to the whole programme.

How long is the flight, and what time do you land?

From Paris, plan on about 3 h 15 to 3 h 30, depending on the airline’s schedule. The times published by regional airports range from 2 h 30 from Bordeaux to 3 h 10 from Lyon. Do not rely on a flight time picked up at random from a comparison site or blog. Only the schedule of the flight you book counts.

The time difference matters as much as the flight time. Morocco has been on UTC+0 all year round since 20 September 2026: one hour behind Paris in winter and two hours behind in summer, which also puts it level with London in winter and one hour behind in summer. In practice, for a flight of about 3 h 15 from Paris:

  • Outbound in winter: leave Paris at 9:00, land around 11:15 Marrakech time. The group can have lunch on arrival and start work in the afternoon.
  • Outbound in summer: leave at 9:00, land around 10:15 local time.
  • Return in winter: leave Marrakech at 16:00, land in Paris around 20:15.
  • Return in summer: leave at 16:00, land in Paris around 21:15.

So the time difference gives you one or two hours on the way out and takes them back on the way home. For a two-day seminar, an early outbound flight adds almost a full working day; a late-afternoon return gets everyone home the same evening. Once on the ground, the airport is about 7 km from Jemaa el-Fna square, roughly twelve minutes by car outside rush hour.

How do group fares work?

A group booking is a single contract covering every traveller, arranged with the airline’s groups team. The rules differ from one airline to the next. Here is what the official pages said when we read them on 14/10/2026.

Airline Threshold Payment Passenger names
easyJet 10 passengers or more, through the groups team, with a group fee per passenger per flight Full amount at booking Manifest with passport details at least 5 days before the first flight; names can be changed until then
Transavia At least 26 people via the website form; at least 10 via the platform for trade partners 50% deposit if booked more than 60 days before departure; balance no later than 60 days before Can be changed until 5 days before departure
Ryanair 15 passengers minimum, up to 189 or 197 depending on the aircraft Full amount at booking; quote valid for 5 days All names 7 days before departure; changes after that are charged

A few details carry real weight in the decision:

  • A quote does not hold seats. easyJet states that a quote reserves no seats and that the price can change until you book.
  • Cancelling is expensive. At Transavia, 61 days or more before departure you can reduce the group by up to 10% free of charge the first time you amend the booking; beyond that, each partial cancellation costs 10% of the price of the tickets concerned and a full cancellation 50% of the total price; at 60 days or less, 100%. At easyJet, the flight price is not refunded on cancellation, apart from government taxes.
  • Sitting together is not guaranteed. easyJet says it will try to seat the group together at check-in but cannot promise it.
  • Royal Air Maroc and Air France: we found no published group conditions online at Royal Air Maroc, and Air France’s “Travel as a group” page could not be loaded on 14/10/2026. Ask these airlines directly or go through your travel agent.

You can check the current version of the group terms of easyJet, Transavia and Ryanair when you are ready to book.

Group fare or individual tickets: which is better?

A group fare has three advantages: one price for everyone, one point of contact, and names that can be supplied late, which leaves time to finalise the attendee list. The flip side is that it commits you early, with full payment or a large deposit, and ties you to the group cancellation rules.

Individual tickets, booked by each participant or by your travel team, are more flexible when people fly from different cities or on different dates. Their risk is the opposite one: the fare can rise between the first and last booking, and nobody guarantees the whole group will fit on the same flight.

In practice, a group fare works well when 15 people or more fly from the same airport, on the same dates, with a stable list. Individual tickets, or a mix of both, suit a dispersed team better. Either way, a travel agent can book for you; we do not sell flights, but we build the programme and ground transfers around the flights you choose.

When should you book flights for a Marrakech retreat?

The group terms set the timetable themselves. At Transavia, you can no longer place an option 60 days or less before departure, and the balance is due 60 days out, so a group booking needs to start at least three months ahead. Here is a cautious timeline to fit into your own planning:

  1. Four to six months before: list participants’ departure cities and choose dates that match the days of operation.
  2. Three to four months before: request group quotes and compare them with individual fares.
  3. More than 60 days before: confirm the group booking and pay the deposit.
  4. Two to three weeks before: collect exact names and passport numbers.
  5. No later than 7 days before (Ryanair) or 5 days (easyJet, Transavia): send the final list.

In spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November), Marrakech’s high season also puts pressure on hotels, so book flights and rooms at the same time. Our retreat planning timeline from D-180 to D+7 places these steps in the full organisation, and our 2027 month-by-month calendar flags the periods to avoid.

When you collect names, check documents at the same time. For French nationals, the French foreign ministry requires a passport valid for the whole stay, as an identity card alone is no longer accepted. Other nationalities should check their own government’s travel advice. A participant who finds out the night before that their passport has expired will not be travelling.

What happens on arrival?

A group arriving on several flights is best handled in waves: one shuttle per arrival slot rather than a single transfer that keeps the first arrivals waiting. Our agency coordinates airport transfers and staggered arrivals, including when your teams fly in from different cities. Airport meet-and-greet and vehicle choice are covered in our guide to handling a large group’s arrival in Morocco (in French). For groups of more than 50, our article on a seminar for 50, 100 or 200 people covers the logistics specific to large numbers.

If you are still weighing up destinations, our comparison of Agadir or Marrakech for a retreat shows which airports serve both cities, so you can fly into one and home from the other. And if your company tracks the carbon footprint of its travel, our guide to an eco-friendly seminar in Marrakech explains how to factor it in.

Frequently asked questions

How long is a flight from Paris to Marrakech?

About 3 h 15 to 3 h 30. With the time difference, a 9:00 departure from Paris lands around 11:15-11:30 Marrakech time in winter and around 10:15-10:30 in summer. Only your flight’s schedule counts.

How many people do you need for a group fare?

According to the official pages we read on 14/10/2026: 10 passengers at easyJet, 15 at Ryanair, and at Transavia 26 via the website form or 10 via the trade partner platform. These thresholds can change, so check them when you book.

Does Saphyyr Events book flights?

No. Flights are booked by you or your travel agent. We take over on arrival: transfers, accommodation, meeting rooms, meals, activities, and a programme built around your flight times.

What if participants fly from different cities?

First choose dates that work with the days of operation from each city, then plan transfers by arrival slot. Individual tickets are often simpler in this case than one single group booking.
