Celebrating your company’s 10th, 20th or 50th anniversary in Marrakech means bringing together in one place what a party at head office cannot: every team, sometimes clients and partners too, two or three days together and an evening people remember. Using our calculator’s model, a gala evening alone for 100 guests in a private riad or palace with live musicians comes to €10,450 to €19,800; a two-night trip for 60 employees in a 4-star hotel, with a morning internal conference, a medina treasure hunt, the gala evening in a riad and airport transfers, comes to €26,136 to €45,562, or €436 to €759 per person, flights excluded. Here are the three possible formats, the programme we propose, the local rules and the timeline.
Three formats, depending on who you invite
The evening alone. Your guests are already in Marrakech, because the company is based there or because the evening closes a seminar organised separately. You fund only the evening: venue, dinner, entertainment, transport home. This is the format of a Moroccan subsidiary, or of a group celebrating the anniversary at the end of a convention.
The employee trip. The company flies its teams in from Europe for two or three days: a morning internal conference to tell the story of ten years and announce the next ten; an activity that mixes departments; the gala evening. This is a common format for a round-number anniversary, and the easiest one to budget, because every line is counted per participant.
The evening with clients and partners. Outside guests travel on their own or are taken care of, for the evening only or for a weekend. This format requires separating the budgets from the start, employees on one side and guests on the other, plus an airport welcome. For a celebration of more than 300 people, our page on conventions in Marrakech for 300 to 1,000 delegates covers the logistics.
How much does a company anniversary in Marrakech cost?
The figures below come from our calculator’s model. They include a 10% contingency and exclude flights, alcoholic drinks, tourist tax, bespoke décor, photographer and our planning fee.
| Format and contents | Budget | Per person |
|---|---|---|
| Evening alone, 150 guests, at the hotel: dinner, private space, DJ | €10,175 to €16,995 | €68 to €113 |
| Evening alone, 100 guests, private riad or palace: dinner, venue hire, live musicians | €10,450 to €19,800 | €105 to €198 |
| Evening alone, 100 guests, Agafay desert camp: dinner, camp hire, musicians, shuttles | €14,300 to €24,200 | €143 to €242 |
| Trip, 60 employees, 4-star hotel: 2 nights, 1 convention day with AV, 1 dinner, medina treasure hunt, gala evening in a riad with musicians, airport transfers | €26,136 to €45,562 | €436 to €759 |
| Trip, 60 employees, 5-star hotel: same programme | €37,686 to €64,372 | €628 to €1,073 |
| Trip, 100 employees, 4-star hotel, evening in Agafay: same programme, gala evening at the Agafay camp | €44,770 to €73,590 | €448 to €736 |
Two lines make up most of it: accommodation, multiplied by nights and participants, and the gala dinner. Between 4 and 5 stars the model counts €80 to €130 against €160 to €260 per night per person: over two nights and 60 people, that is the gap of roughly €11,500 to €18,800 in the table. The venue hire for the evening, €2,000 to €6,000 for a riad or palace and €5,000 to €9,000 for an Agafay camp, weighs less per head the larger the group: that is why the 100-person trip with a desert evening costs roughly the same per person as the 60-person trip with a riad evening. Our comparison of corporate evening formats in Marrakech details the three evening venues.
Sample three-day programme for 60 people
| Time | Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Morning | Flight and arrival, transfers, check-in | Internal convention: ten years in pictures, results, course for the next ten (3 h, with AV) | Late breakfast, free time, departures |
| Afternoon | Free time, briefing of the organising team | Medina treasure hunt in mixed teams, back to the hotel, get ready | Airport transfers |
| Evening | Welcome dinner at the hotel, ending around 10:30 p.m. | Gala evening: reception, speeches, awards, dinner, musicians, then DJ until the music curfew (DJ optional: €500 to €1,200) |
The convention takes a morning, not a day: three hours are enough for a retrospective, a review and a projection, and attention drops after that. The awards go in the evening, between the reception and dinner, when everyone has arrived and nobody is seated yet. Our guide to corporate event themes in Marrakech gives décor ideas tied to the anniversary: ten years as ten tables, the first team photo blown up large, the original product on display.
The local rules that matter for a big evening
- Music curfew. In riads and central venues, amplified sound usually stops between midnight and 1 a.m. The Agafay camp has no neighbours, but the camp’s own closing time applies, and the coach journey takes one and a half to two hours round trip.
- Declaration. In Morocco, an event of more than 100 people must be declared to the prefecture 30 days ahead (15 days for smaller events).
- Alcohol. Served in licensed venues or through a licensed supplier; check venue by venue before booking. The next Ramadan is expected around 8 February 2027.
- Transport home. The French foreign ministry’s road-safety advice for Morocco is not to drive at night: professional drivers and properly sized shuttles, never hire cars driven by participants.
- Passports. A passport valid for the whole stay is required; have every participant check theirs when the invitation goes out.
What timeline?
A hotel is generally booked three to six months ahead for a seminar, and room blocks are negotiated around six months out. For a company anniversary the date is known long in advance, and the evening venue is the most contested item: in high season, March to May and September to November, the riads and camps that hold 100 people go early. We recommend blocking the evening venue and the rooms six months ahead, sending invitations at four months with the passport reminder, and closing the list at six weeks, when group flights and menus are confirmed. Our corporate retreat planning timeline details each step.
Two points to settle with your finance team before signing off: the tax and social treatment of a company-funded trip abroad, covered in our article on company retreats abroad and benefits in kind, and the VAT applicable to a company seminar in Morocco.
What Saphyyr Events does
We build the trip from your guest list: hotel and room block, convention room and AV, activity, evening venue, caterer, musicians, anniversary-themed décor, transfers and shuttles, airport welcome, and our team on site from the first flight to the last departure. Frequently asked questions
How much does a company anniversary evening for 100 cost in Marrakech?
In our model, €10,450 to €19,800 in a private riad or palace with dinner and musicians, €14,300 to €24,200 in an Agafay desert camp with shuttles, and €7,150 to €12,320 at the hotel with a DJ. Alcoholic drinks and bespoke décor not included.
Can we invite clients to the evening without flying them in for the whole trip?
Yes. The two lists are separated from the quote onwards: employees on the full trip, guests on the evening only, with an airport welcome and a hotel night if you cover it.
How far ahead?
Six months for the evening venue and the rooms, four months for invitations, six weeks to close the list. In high season, March to May and September to November, do not go below that.
Does the programme need a working session?
It is not compulsory, but a morning conference session gives the trip a purpose and a professional character, which matters for its accounting and social treatment. Three hours are enough.
Until what time can we dance?
Usually until midnight or 1 a.m. in central venues. For a longer party you need an isolated venue, confirmed in writing before booking.
