A client hospitality trip to Marrakech comes in three formats: a one-night business dinner, a two- or three-day client trip, or a VIP event around a product launch or a company milestone. According to our calculator, a private riad dinner with live musicians for 40 guests costs €6,160 to €13,200, and a two-night trip in a 5-star hotel for 20 clients, with a half-day of business content, a workshop and a riad evening, €15,202 to €28,094, excluding flights. For a client evening or trip, our event planning team in Marrakech replies within 48 business hours: send a free quote request with your guest count and dates.
This guide is for companies hosting clients, prospects, distributors or partners: guests who are not your employees, who are under no obligation to come, and who will judge your company on every detail of the stay. That is what sets it apart from an incentive trip, which rewards your own staff.
Business dinner, client trip or VIP event?
The business dinner
One evening, one table, one conversation. It is the right format when your clients are already in Marrakech, for a trade show, a congress or their own retreat. A private riad salon for 10 to 40 covers, a served dinner and discreet music are enough. Trade show weeks fill hotels: for GITEX Africa, 26 to 28 April 2027, see our guide to hosting a corporate event during GITEX Africa.
The two- or three-day client trip
You fly in 10 to 40 clients, host them, show them something and let them experience the city. It is the strongest format for the relationship and the most exposed: a late transfer or a wrong room is noticed immediately. Keep the business content short, a morning or half-day, but make it real: product presentation, round table, time with your experts.
The VIP event
Product launch, company anniversary, awards for your best distributors: an evening for 50 to several hundred guests, with staging. The gala dinner is the backbone; our corporate gala dinner guide compares formats and venues.
A three-day programme for 20 clients
Day 1, arrival. Personal welcome at the airport, private transfer, printed programme and a contact reachable at any time. Free late afternoon, then a simple welcome dinner at the hotel: guests arrive on different flights and not all of them are fresh.
Day 2, the core. Business session from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm: your presentation, a round table, an expert talk. Lunch on a terrace. An afternoon experience: Moroccan cooking class, guided medina walk or free time at the spa. In the evening, the highlight: a private dinner in a riad or under the stars in the Agafay desert, with live musicians.
Day 3, departure. Free morning or a breakfast with your leadership team, then transfers timed flight by flight. A late-afternoon departure gets most European guests home the same evening; from Paris, the flight takes about 3 h 15 to 3 h 30.
Two rules make the difference: leave free time, and plan at least one unscripted conversation, a rooftop drink or a table of eight. That is where the relationship moves forward.
How much does client hospitality in Marrakech cost?
The figures below come from the model behind our seminar and team building budget calculator, including a 10% contingency and excluding flights, alcohol, tourist tax and organisation fees.
| Format | Included | Total budget | Per guest |
|---|---|---|---|
| Business dinner, 12 guests | Private riad, dinner | €3,058 to €7,920 | €255 to €660 |
| Business dinner, 40 guests | Private riad, dinner, live musicians | €6,160 to €13,200 | €154 to €330 |
| Client trip, 20 guests, 2 nights | 5-star hotel, half-day with AV, cooking class, hotel dinner, riad evening with musicians, transfers | €15,202 to €28,094 | €760 to €1,405 |
| Client trip, 20 guests, 3 nights | Same base, Agafay desert evening with shuttles, two hotel dinners | €23,342 to €39,512 | €1,167 to €1,976 |
| Client trip, 40 guests, 2 nights | 5-star hotel, half-day, hotel dinner, riad evening with musicians, transfers | €24,794 to €43,648 | €620 to €1,091 |
For a small dinner, the venue hire weighs most: €2,000 to €6,000 for a riad in the model, whether you are 12 or 40. For a trip, it is accommodation: €160 to €260 per night per single room in a 5-star hotel. An Agafay desert evening costs more than a riad because venue hire runs €5,000 to €9,000 and shuttles are needed.
Inviting, confirming, welcoming
A client is not an employee: nothing can be imposed and attendance depends on their diary. Send a save-the-date early, then the formal invitation with the programme and a clear list of what is and is not covered. Collect in one form the names exactly as on passports, dietary needs, allergies and whether the guest brings a partner; our guide to a seminar with partners and families covers the companion programme.
Remind guests of entry rules for their nationality and decide who books flights: you, your travel agency or the guests themselves. We do not sell airline tickets, but we build transfers and the programme around the flights chosen.
Tax and compliance: check before you invite
Tax treatment of client entertainment depends on your company’s country, so ask your accountant before the event. For French companies, the official BOFiP guidance (consulted on 26 October 2026) sets annual thresholds above which a statement of general expenses (form 2067) is mandatory: €3,000 for gifts of any kind and €6,100 for entertainment costs, restaurants and shows included. It also excludes so-called sumptuary expenses, such as leisure hunting and fishing or yachts, from deductible costs. Whether a trip offered to a client counts as a gift or as entertainment is not settled explicitly in the guidance and should be qualified with your accountant. Moroccan VAT charged on hotels, meals and transfers is not refundable to a foreign company with no business activity in Morocco: see our article on VAT for a company seminar in Morocco.
Your guests also have rules. Many companies cap or require approval for the hospitality their staff may accept, and often refuse it during a tender. France’s anti-corruption agency published a practical guide on gifts and hospitality policies in 2020, noting that hospitality is a normal part of business but can amount to bribery or influence peddling when it aims to get someone to act in breach of their duties. The guide is not binding. In practice: send each guest a detailed programme they can forward to their compliance team, with the business content clearly shown; avoid inviting during an open tender; and accept graciously if a client prefers to pay their own flight. For public-sector guests, check the rules that apply to them before sending the invitation.
What Saphyyr Events does
We organise client evenings, prestige dinners and product launches: venue selection and hire, catering, musicians, decoration, airport welcome, transfers, accommodation and on-the-day coordination. A team in Paris prepares the project with you and a team in Marrakech delivers it on site, in English or French.

As early as possible: hotels are usually booked three to six months ahead, more in high season (March to May and September to November). Announce the date as soon as the hotel is on option.
