In 2027, the best windows for a corporate retreat in Marrakech are January to early February, the second half of May, mid-September to 22 October, and 8 November to mid-December. February and early March need care: Ramadan is expected from 8 or 9 February to 8 or 9 March, give or take a day depending on the moon sighting, and for teams based in France it overlaps almost entirely with the winter school holidays of all three French zones. July and August combine heat, summer leave and Moroccan national holidays. Here is the full calendar, month by month.
Which calendars should you cross-check before picking a date?
Four, and none of them is enough on its own. The Moroccan religious calendar, which follows the lunar cycle and moves forward by about eleven days each year: its 2027 dates are still estimates, give or take a day. Moroccan national holidays, which fall on fixed dates. Your participants’ school holidays, which decide whether parents can travel and push up air fares; this article uses the French calendar, published by the French Ministry of Education. And the climate, with average temperatures in Marrakech. A fifth factor sits in the background: the time difference with your head office, which for Paris is one or two hours depending on the season.

Temperatures are rounded climate normals, not forecasts. School holidays are those published by the French Ministry of Education in its official school calendar. Moroccan religious holidays are expected on the dates shown, give or take a day depending on the moon sighting. Marrakech is always behind Paris; it is level with London in winter and one hour behind in summer.
Why are February and early March 2027 tricky?
On paper, February ticks every box: around 21°C in the afternoon, low season, hotels with more availability. But in 2027, two calendars overlap. Ramadan is expected from 8 or 9 February to 8 or 9 March, and the French winter school holidays run from 6 February to 7 March depending on the zone. In other words, the weeks you would rule out because of school holidays and the weeks you would rule out because of Ramadan are almost the same: between 6 February and early March, you have to accept one of the two constraints.
A seminar is still possible during Ramadan. The rhythm of the city changes, though: many services adjust their hours to the fast, and the breaking of the fast at sunset shapes the evening. Plan for it in working lunches, activities in town and the teams of local suppliers, some of whom will be fasting.
The clocks, on the other hand, no longer change during Ramadan. Morocco went back to GMT on 20 September 2026 and now stays on it all year round: Marrakech is one hour behind Paris in winter and two hours behind when France is on summer time, from 28 March to 31 October 2027. Bear this in mind when you set flight times and video calls with head office.
Which weeks should you avoid because of holidays?
Eid al-Fitr, expected on Tuesday 9 and Wednesday 10 March, and Eid al-Adha, expected on Sunday 16 and Monday 17 May, are the two holidays that matter most: they are public holidays, families get together and some suppliers stop working. Avoid scheduling your seminar on those days, and also your last exchanges with suppliers. Monday 17 May 2027 is also Whit Monday in France.
Fixed-date national holidays are easier to manage because you know them in advance. In 2027, several fall on a weekend: 1 May and 14 August are Saturdays, Unity Day on 31 October is a Sunday, and the Green March on 6 November is a Saturday. Others fall on weekdays and may close government offices or some services: Monday 11 January, Thursday 14 January, Friday 30 July, Friday 20 August and Thursday 18 November.
If your teams are spread across several French school zones, think in combined periods rather than zone by zone. In spring, at least one zone is on holiday from 3 April to 2 May 2027, so the whole of April is affected. In winter, the combined period runs from 6 February to 7 March, almost exactly the expected Ramadan. A company with staff all over France that wants to avoid every school holiday and Ramadan has only three windows in the first half of the year: 4 January to 5 February, 11 March to 2 April, and 3 May to the end of June, keeping in mind Eid al-Adha, expected in mid-May.
July and August: should you rule out the summer?
Not necessarily, but choose it with your eyes open. Average highs exceed 37°C in July and August, and average lows stay above 20°C. A summer seminar in Marrakech is built around air-conditioned meeting rooms, morning sessions and evening activities, with no outdoor programme in the afternoon. Add the French summer holidays from 3 July and a cluster of Moroccan holidays between 30 July and 21 August. June, with highs around 34°C, is a compromise for teams that want to travel before the summer.
The best windows in 2027
4 January to 5 February, avoiding the holidays on 11 and 14 January: highs around 19 to 21°C, cool nights, no French school holidays, low season. This is the most accessible window of the year, as long as you travel before Ramadan.
18 to 28 May: after Eid al-Adha, before the June heat, with highs around 29°C. This is still high season, which runs from March to May: book early.
Mid-September to 22 October: the back-to-school rush is over, the heat eases off, and the French All Saints’ holidays start on 23 October. This is high season, which runs from September to November: book early. The time difference with Paris stays at two hours until 31 October, then drops to one.
8 November to 17 December: after All Saints’ and before Christmas, highs around 20 to 23°C, one hour behind Paris. Plan heated spaces for the evenings.
Does the season change the budget?
Mostly it changes availability and your room to negotiate. In high season, from March to May and from September to November, the best options go early; winter is often more accessible. For a ballpark figure, our seminar budget calculator puts a 60-person seminar, with three nights in a 4-star hotel, two working days with AV, two dinners, an evening with a DJ, a medina rally and airport transfers, at €34,200 to €56,600, or roughly €570 to €940 per person excluding flights. In high season, work with the top of the range to be safe.
When should you book for a 2027 date?
For a high-season window, six months ahead is comfortable; for January, start the previous autumn. Our corporate retreat timeline, from D-180 to D+7, dates every step on an October 2027 example. Entry requirements do not change with the season: for French citizens, a passport valid for the whole stay and a return ticket, according to the French Foreign Ministry. Other nationalities should check their own rules.
